Probation Officer

(Probation Officer Duties)

Bob has served in many diverse courtroom settings and for a wide variety of judges with differing styles on the bench. He has been able to adapt and work well with all Judges and court personnel wherever he has been. His long history of working in a variety of courts, and in this particular Whitfield County Magistrate Court since 2001, make him ideally suited and well qualified for the position of Whitfield Magistrate Court Judge.

Bob became a Probation Officer in 1995. He started working for Community Correction Corporation in Jonesboro, Ga. There he served in Clayton County State court and Jonesboro City Court. Because of his multi-lingual skills, he translated in various courts when he was needed. In the fall of 1995 he was able to transfer to the Rockdale office in his home county. There he served in State Court, Conyers City Court, Rockdale Magistrate Court, and he supervised Misdemeanor cases out of Superior Court. Serving in Rockdale State Court is where Bob mastered the art of Probation. He was placed on the BI Community Corrections Southeast training team that trained other probation officers. He also assisted other BI offices in Walton, Madison and Newton counties as needed. He was able to work in many diverse courts and learned how to adapt to many differing styles of court room procedures from various judges.

In 1999, Bob was transferred to Whitfield County due to his expertise and bi-lingual abilities. In Whitfield County Bob has served in Dalton Municipal Court, Probate Court, Magistrate Court and Tunnel Hill Municipal Court. He also supervised cases in Murray County Probate Court, Chatsworth City Court, and Eton City Court for a period of time.

Bob currently manages and oversees the day to day operations for Alternative Probation Services. He supervises hundreds of probationers, prepares and submits warrants for approval, he prepares modifications and revocations, and he presents probation revocation cases in court. He counsels and assists probationers and helps them successfully complete their cases.
